Aoife (21) Geography and Psychology

 

Hi there,

First of all, welcome to the blog! I will start off with a few lines introducing myself but I’ll keep it short and sweet. My name is Aoife. I live in Cork city, in the south of Ireland. I have just recently started my final year at University College Cork.  Like the majority of the contributors to this blog, I hope to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the fall of 2015. Unlike the others, I am majoring in Geography and minoring in Studies in Psychology.

I certainly took a risk is choosing to do geography at a degree level, having never completed geography at senior level for my Leaving Certificate. It is a risk I have not once looked back on! I believe everyone naturally finds their own niche in a broad spectrum and geography is indeed a broad subject. My favorite discipline of geography is that of social geography; a love which I discovered on Day 1 of first year. I am especially interested in Urban and Cultural studies;in how the modern world has transformed into a global web of connectivity.
